Ideas for a Better World newsletter
New Platform, Same Newsletter
The era of platform gatekeeping is over. I built a custom home for our ideas—no paywalls, no algorithms, just pure insight. Dive into why I’m ditching the creator-monetization trap.

Welcome to the New Home for Ideas for a Better World.
Last week, I asked for your help deciding where this newsletter should live. You came back with genuine, thoughtful feedback about what actually matters: discoverability, reader friction, and knowing the work would stay stable.
I listened. The clamour was to "own it....build it from scratch".....so I did.
Why?
Because when I evaluated the platforms we discussed, such as Substack or Ghost, they were all optimised for creator monetisation, not for writer-reader fit.
Charge per subscriber?
Charge more for larger audiences?
It's backwards. The bigger your community, the more it should cost them to reach you?
That's not what we're doing here.
I don't want to charge you to read this. I'm not trying to monetise Ideas for a Better World. And I genuinely don't see why serving 10,000+ readers should cost me hundreds a month. Someone is making a fool.
So I built something different. A home that's mine, that costs a reasonable amount to run, that gives you multiple ways to stay in the loop.
Building means you can integrate with other like minded solutions. Great products at a fair and reasonable cost. I've integrated Brevo to send these newsletters cleanly to those who prefer email (not for the crazy costs others levy on their users), BuzzSprout for the podcast, and built the whole thing to be simple, fast, and owned. No algorithm. No subscription tiers. No surveillance.
It's still rough. The site will keep evolving, features will be added, things will improve. But the foundation is solid, and that's what matters.
Where to find me now
Website: everything will appear on the new site, all newsletters, blogs, podcasts, books and more. That is the single source of the truth.
Email: Sign up on the site to get these delivered straight to your inbox. No spam, just insights once a week (or so), opt out whenever you want.
LinkedIn: I will always be there. Still posting. Still in your feed if you're following.
Reddit: I'll be posting to r/innovation when there's something worth sharing.
X: If you're still there in 2026, yes, I'll share there too.
More to come: More channels coming as we grow, wherever the community actually is.
Thank you, genuinely, for being part of this decision. Your feedback shaped what you're seeing now. The fact that you cared where this lived, how it was served, whether I owned it or not, that mattered. It still does.
Let's keep following curiosity together. Week after week. No paywall. No gatekeeping. Just ideas.
